StarScript Inc. and its agents (“StarScript”), a Delaware corporation, operate a website located at starscript.com, a mobile application, and other tangible mediums of expression (“StarScript Products”).
StarScript may be referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our” and you as “you” or “your”.
We respect the privacy of our users and strive to maintain a protected medium for that purpose. This personal and sensitive information policy (“Privacy Policy, or merely “Policy”) regards the usage of information that identifies, relates to, or could be reasonably linked with you or your household (“Personal Information”).
This Policy is supplemental to the User Agreement and Community Guidelines, both of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
By using StarScript Products, you:
1.1 Represent, warrant, and covenant that you have read, understood, and agreed to all of the writing(s) herein; and
1.2 Expressly consent to the collection, usage, and sharing of your Personal Information as outlined in this Policy.
You have the right to know which categories and types of Personal Information are being collected.
2.1 Personal (Necessary)
The following types of Personal Information are collected during account creation:
2.1.1 Name (including Legal Name and Stage Name);
2.1.2 Email Address; and
2.1.3 User IDs (unique identifiers that relate to your account).
2.2 Personal (Optional)
You may provide StarScript with additional Personal Information during the creation and subsequent customization of your profile, including but not limited to your:
2.2.1 Creator archetype(s);
2.2.2 Interests;
2.2.3 Work experience;
2.2.4 Education;
2.2.5 Job and service offers; and
2.2.6 Any other information you provide in your profile.
StarScript does not request information regarding your phone number, race, ethnicity, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, health, or fitness. If you choose to provide these types in your profile you do so at your sole risk.
2.3 Activity
Some information about your activity is collected, including your:
2.3.1 Online status; and
2.3.2 Interactions.
2.4 Performance
The following performance data is collected:
2.4.1 Logs regarding crashes;
2.4.2 Diagnostics; and
2.4.3 Other performance data.
2.5 Messages
StarScript allows you to communicate with other users through groups and direct messaging. At this time, messages and media sent and received are not encrypted.
Recipients of messages may copy, modify, or disseminate them without your consent. Therefore, we recommend that you exercise diligence and safe practices that protect your Personal Information.
2.6 Intellectual Property
You may provide StarScript, in part or in whole, with original works of authorship (“Creative Works”) such as literary works, musical works, dramatic works, pantomimes, choreographic works, motion pictures, pictorial works, graphic works, sculptural works, audiovisual works, sound records, and architectural works.
2.6.1 You represent, warrant, and covenant that you possess the necessary rights to upload, share, post, or otherwise fix Creative Works to StarScript Products;
2.6.2 You grant to StarScript a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license (“License”) to transmit, route, cache, reproduce copies, prepare derivative works, distribute copies, publicly perform, publicly display, or otherwise use your Creative Works; and
2.6.3 You retain copyright ownership of your Creative Works and may end this License at any time by deleting your account.
2.7 Device
StarScript may collect information about your device, including your device type, browser type, internet protocol (IP) address, system version, wireless carrier, or other unique identifiers or information.
2.8 Location
StarScript may collect device-based location information derived from GPS, wireless signals, networks, or other technology. This can be disabled in the settings of the device used.
2.9 Cookies
Cookies are text files that store information on your device.
StarScript and third-parties collect and use cookies, including performance, analytic, and advertisement cookies, to facilitate the development and security of our website and to improve the user experience.
You may change the settings of your browser to block or remove cookies.
You have the right to know how we use the Personal Information that we collect. In short, your Personal Information is used to:
3.1 Facilitate the creation of your Account;
3.2 Enable general functionality of StarScript Products;
3.3 Deliver products and services;
3.4 Provide technical support and send notices;
3.5 Remedy infringement claims; and
3.6 Improve StarScript Products.
You have the right to know if your Personal Information is sold or shared to third-parties.
StarScript does not sell your Personal Information.
In limited circumstances, we may share some of your Personal Information to:
4.1 Advertise StarScript Products;
4.2 Protect our legal rights;
4.3 Protect the legal rights of our users;
4.4 Comply with valid legal requests and applicable law; and
4.5 Facilitate the development of StarScript Products.
We aim to provide a safe and secure medium for our users. However, security risks will always exist in the digital space. To that end, we cannot warrant or guarantee that your Personal Information will be safe or secure. Therefore we advise users to exercise diligence and care when providing Personal Information or other content to StarScript Products.
You have the right to request that StarScript delete any of the Personal Information that we have collected. To perform this request, navigate to the 'Account' management section and click 'Delete Account'.
In limited circumstances, we may maintain some or all of this information to perform a contract between you and StarScript, to ensure the security and integrity of the information, to debug and repair errors, to exercise free speech and ensure the rights of other users, to comply with law or legal obligations, to enable internal use, or to engage in scientific, historical, or statistical research that adheres to applicable privacy laws..
Except as provided in the aforementioned limited circumstances, StarScript shall delete your Personal Information within forty-five (45) days to ninety (90) days upon deletion of your Account.
Personal Information of California residents are protected under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA).
This policy may be amended, supplemented, or otherwise modified from time to time to reflect current services and practices, to further secure our rights, to further the rights of our users, or to comply with applicable law.
