This was the poster for the first Cystic Fibrosis Art Exhibition that took place in Los Angeles, CA this year. It was a difficult journey to get it this far (with some persistent campaigning for an event such as this) but this will not be the last and there is exciting stuff happening in regards to it.

This show is truly one of a kind because this event is out together by only people who have CF. This event, by the assessment of the medical institution at large, shouldn't exist at all due to the nature of CF.

Yet, it does. This event started in Limerick, Ireland (this is technically the 3rd) in 2018. Every piece that was on display was created by a person who has CF. This is a condition that enforces isolation and overall disconnection.

There are no support groups. There is no social mixing. There is no unity. With this event the amazing artists who participate in this event are aiming to change this aspect within the lives of others (and the future generations to come).

We are physically separated by the biological mishap we are born with but that does not mean that we are spiritually disconnected from each other. We are a team and we work towards the same singular goal. Only and always the cure.

But this is a complicated goal and requires our communities to not just understand that we exist and that we are part of this world but the full support of our communities. CF can crop up in anyone and it is merciless.
