Sharing snippets of my story. ‘The Nothing world’

Currently querying for an agent.

This is the main female protagonist speaking, as she has her companion clinging to life, she preys as she had always, back in her village that was no longer there.

“Keepers… Wardens of the Gates… if you hear me—please.

I don’t know the right words, only the ones I was taught.

I’m just a child at your door, knocking.

Please—answer me.

Don’t let him go. Not yet. Not now.

If you protect me, I’ll serve you.

If you give me strength, I won’t waste it.

I’ll never try to bind your Gates,

never reach for what isn’t mine to take,

never use your gift in vain.

Just… hear me. Please. That’s all I ask.”
