The last normal day never feels important while it’s happening.

The day Josh disappeared started like any other day.

We ran errands.

We talked.

We laughed.

Nothing about it felt unusual.

If someone had told me that within hours he would vanish from the world—without answers, without explanation—I would have laughed at how impossible that sounded.

But that’s the thing about tragedy.

It never announces itself first.

There was no warning that the man I loved would become a missing person.

No warning that I would spend the coming months walking the streets of Seattle with his picture in my hands, asking strangers if they had seen him.

No warning that the life we were building together would suddenly collapse into a mystery.

The last confirmed place Josh was seen was near Rainier Avenue South & South Genesee Street.

After that, the trail simply… stopped.
