“A MUST SEE ARTIST AND MASTER DRUMMER" - The Los Angeles Times Paul Peress is a music producer, songwriter, bandleader, and drummer, based out of Los Angeles, California. Peress has been Music Director/Drummer for Chaka Kahn, Brenda Russell, Moby, Deniece Williams, Regina Belle, Tom Scott, Stephen Bishop, and Phil Perry, and sideman with The B-52’s, Mary Wilson, and Guy Davis. He has cowritten songs with mulit-Grammy Winners: Brenda Russell, Deniece Williams, and Bill Champlin. The Paul Peress Project featuring his original compositions, has performed in over 20 countries, from Jamaica’s Jazz & Blues, to New York City’s Lincoln Center Out of Doors, to South Africa’s Joy of Jazz Festival. His latest album Falling Awake dropped late 2020 featuring Oz Noy, Bob Reynolds, Randy Brecker, Tim Lefebvre, Hadrien Feraud, Will Lee, Michael Landau… Peress also teaches drums and composition at Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, and is currently writing an international action thriller.
